Day 1: Bogota Arrival at Bogota El Dorado International airport. Transfer to your hotel in Candelaria district. Free time to enjoy at your own Colombia´s capital city where modern districts and historic center, urban architecture and green parks stand alongside. Overnight at Abadia Colonial Hotel in Clasic room. Included : private transport, room & breakfast

Day 2: Bogota Explore Colombia´s capital city of Bogota, known for its colonial and authentic atmosphere. Walking through its cobblestoned streets, you will discover colorful restored colonial mansions, splendid carved wooden balconies as well as churches built in baroque style. - The Gold museum displays one of the most dazzling collection in South America. It brings together around 34.000 pieces of goldsmith work, considered as the world´s largest pre-Colombian collection of its kind. Those artifacts come from different civilizations : Quimbayas, Taironas, Muiscas or Tolimas. - Botero Museum is dedicated to the most famous colombian artist, Fernando Botero. The Museum contains both his works (around a hundred of drawings, paintings and sculptures) as well as his private collection with no less than 85 masterpieces of well known artists, such as Dali, Renoir, Chagall, Picasso, Miro ... - Bolivar Square (la Plaza Bolivar) surrounded by Bogota´s grandest buildings, including the Town Hall, the Palace of Justice, Primatial Cathedral, Congress Building... Note 1 : the tour in La Candelaria is a walking tour (3 to 4 hours) Note 2 : the order of visits may vary depending on the weekday (The Gold Museum is closed on Mondays. Day 3: Bogota - Villavicencio - La Macarena Transfer to Bogota airport for your domestic flight. Domestic flight to Villavicencio. Arrival at Villavicencio where you will board a second plane to reach La Macarena, the starting point of Caño Cristales excursions. Once in La Macarena, you will take boat to sail on Guayabero river, before continuing by jeep to the entrance of Caño Cristalito site. Situated nearby Caño Cristales, you will discover, after a small walk of an hour and half, the beautiful wilderness of this area. IMPORTANT: The access to the sites of Caño Cristales is highly regulated. The protection authority, the “Cormacarena”, issues the entry permits day by day. Descriptions of the tours are therefore indicative only; the order and content are subject to change. In addition, the site is highly protected. Access to the sites where the algae are, is only permitted from the second day of excursion. It is forbidden to use sunscreen. Appropriate equipment will be recommended before departure. Note 1: Depending on your arrival time at La Macarena, you will either discover this first day Caño Cristalito site or Caño Piedra, closer to La Macarena. Note 2: Hotels in La Macarena city are all basic comfort, maximum two stars. Note 3: Departure from Bogota at 6:00am by charter flight. 15kg checked luggage are allowed, 5kg in the cabin. Day 4: Caño Cristales - La Macarena After breakfast in a local restaurant, you will board a boat for about ten minutes before continuing by 4x4 to reach the entrance of Caño Cristales site. Depending on the paths opened by the park that day, you will discover several waterfalls with poetic names: Quartz waterfalls, the Virgin Rock, the Pianos or the Waterfalls of Love. You will discover the famous river known for its hundreds of shades of red and green. Return to La Macarena (walking, boat and 4x4) and end of day free. Note: a “fiambre” (typical dish served in a plantain leaf) will be served for lunch during your hike. Overnight at La Cascada Hotel in Standard room. Day 5: Caño Cristales - La Macarena Third day on spot where you will have the chance to see other parts of Caño Cristales site, such as Tablas de la Ley, Casada Escalera, Salto del Aguila or Los Pailones (as per the paths opened that day by the park). Return to La Macarena (walking, boat and 4x4) and end of day free. Note: a “fiambre” (typical dish served in a plantain leaf) will be served for lunch during your hike. Day 6: La Macarena - Villavicencio - Bogota Last day in Meta department, where you will enjoy a half-day excursion in Caño Piedra. Lunch in La Macarena and transfer to the airport for your domestic flight. Note 1: Depending on your departure time from La Macarena, you will either discover this last day Caño Cristalito site or Caño Piedra, closer to La Macarena. Note 2: Departure from La Macarena at 2pm by light aircraft. 15kg checked luggage are allowed, 5kg in the cabin. In Villavicencio, connection with a regular flight to Bogota. Note 3: At the airport, you would have to pay a local tax of 5 000 COP per person. Domestic flight to Bogota. Arrival at Bogota El Dorado International airport. Transfer to your hotel in Candelaria district. Free time to enjoy at your own Colombia´s capital city where modern districts and historic center, urban architecture and green parks stand alongside. Day 7: Bogota - Leticia - Calanoa Reserve Transfer to Bogota airport for your domestic flight. Domestic flight to Leticia. Arrival to Leticia and transfer by private boat on the Rio Amazonas to reach the lodge. After 1h30 of navigation, check into your lodge. After dinner, night jungle walk to soak up noise, and discover species of insects and animals that only come out at night. IMPORTANT : The Calanoa lodge is an Ecolodge which works closely with local communities. Located in the heart of the Amazon rainforest, it functions ecologically: use of rain water, electricity only between 3 PM and 11 PM, meals prepared according refueling and fishing. The activities are generally organized as follows: a first excursion in the morning at 9 AM, returning in the late morning, then lunch at the lodge. A second one is planned between 3 and 5 PM. The order of activities may be reorganized with your guide depending on weather conditions or your interests. Note 1: at Leticia airport, you will have to pay the Amazon tourist tax (21000 COP / person to date) . Note 2: possibility to spend a first night in Leticia and visit the city. Day 8: Calanoa Reserve After breakfast, visit of the indigenous community of El Vergel. This community is composed mainly of the Tikunas tribe. Meeting with the Indian ancestral culture and discover their crafts. Lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, walking in the nature reserve surrounding the lodge. Your guide will show you the secrets of the flora and fauna, medicinal plants, giant trees, the adaptation of different plants to the jungle. You might cross families of micos (monkeys), parrots, armadillos and many tropical birds. You can then return to the lodge by canoe, through the Quebrada Matamata, the limits of Amacayacu Park. Note 1: donations of school supplies and light clothing are welcome to the village El Vergel . Note 2: about two hours walking. Note 3: because of rain, returning in canoe might not be possible between July and November. Overnight at Calanoa Lodge in Bungalow. Day 9: Calanoa Reserve - Tarapoto Lake - Puerto Nariño - Calanoa Reserve In the morning, navigation to Puerto Nariño. We cross Tarapoto lake, a favorite spot for pink dolphins in the Amazon. One can also observe several species of caimans, many birds (parrots, toucans ...), several species of monkeys (howler, capuchin ...) and various mammals such as armadillos and tapirs. Here it is possible to swim. Lunch in Puerto Nariño, a village famous throughout Colombia for its ecology initiatives. End of the day free in the village. Overnight at Calanoa Lodge in Bungalow. Day 10: Calanoa Reserve - Leticia - Bogota - Medellin After breakfast departure for Leticia in a private boat. Note: according to your flight schedule, you can visit the city of Leticia. You can then reach the airport (located 10 minutes from the city) in "Cocotaxi". Domestic flight to Bogota. Domestic flight to Medellin. Arrival at Medellin and transfer to your hotel. Day 11: Medellin This day will be dedicated to Medellin City tour. You will start the day by a guided walking tour of Carabobo district to discover the different types of architecture of the city: from Palacio Nacional to Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria basilica, before reaching Plaza Botero, where you will discover the unique style statues of Colombia´s famous artist Fernando Botero. In the afternoon, a ride on the Metrocable will take you up to the hills of the city to enjoy Medellin from above. Then, you will head to the beautiful botanical garden before visiting Santo Domingo district. You will go back down to Nutibara hill, considered one of the city's seven "guardian" hills, and also one of the few ecosystems that is conserved in Medellín. The end of the day will be free for you to enjoy Medellin’s posh and most popular neighborhood, El Poblado, at your own pace. Note: Optional visit of Antioquia museum. Located in the Grand Art Deco Palacio Municipal, this museum houses the largest collection of works donated by Medellin native Fernando Botero as well as pre-Colombian, colonial and modern art collections. Day 12: Medellin - Ñuqui Transfer to Olaya Herrera airport (Medellin national airport) for your domestic flight. Domestic flight to Ñuqui. Welcoming at the airport and transfer by boat, along the Pacific Coast, to your lodge. Free afternoon to relax and enjoy the charms and treasures of this natural paradise. Note 1: At Ñuqui Airport, you will be charged a local tax of 7 000 COP/person. Note 2: Baggage is limited in weight (10 kg/person). Luggage surplus can be paid directly at the airport. Day 13: Ñuqui A discovery stay to explore the surroundings of Bahia Solano: walk through the tropical vegetation, boat trip where you will maybe have the chance to meet with Humpback Whales. This area of Colombia is – as well – known for its turtles and dolphins. Note 1: The order of the visits will be given on spot. Two boat trips will be organized during your stay (around 3 hours duration each). Note 2: Thermal baths are optional. Entrance fees : 12 000 COP/person. Overnight at El Cantil Hotel in Bungalow. Day 14: Ñuqui A discovery stay to explore the surroundings of Bahia Solano: walk through the tropical vegetation, boat trip where you will maybe have the chance to meet with Humpback Whales.
