3 Days - Huayna Potosi (6,088m)

Climb the “easiest 6000-peak”, an impressive and beautiful mountain with its normal route being one of the favourites for both acclimatization of the experienced climber as much as for the first-timer with crampons and ice-axe. This tour includes a day of practising with crampons and ice axe at the lower glacier. We sleep at basic refuges but with all the facilities spend a comfortable night.

    • Day 1 – La Paz – Base Camp

      • Day 1 – La Paz – Base Camp

      We leave from La Paz for the base-camp in the morning, and after lunch we head up to the lower glacier for our practice.

      • Day 2 – Base Camp – High Camp (5,400m)

      We hike up to the high camp (5,400m) where we eat and rest, while preparing for the summit in the early hours of the next day.

      • Day 3 – Huayna Potosí summit (6,088m) – La Paz

      We start the ascend 1.30 am. to be able to reach the summit at sunrise. It is an approximate 5-hour climb in the cold of night and stars, with an extraordinary view over the Cordillera Real, the highlands and lake Titicaca. The descend is quick and after a small bite back at the high camp we go down to the base where our transport awaits to take us back to La Paz arriving in the early afternoon.
