2 Days - Huayna Potosi (6,088m) - Mountain Climbing

Climb the “easiest 6000-peak”, an impressive and beautiful mountain with its normal route being one of the favourites for both acclimatization of the experienced climber as much as for the first-timer with crampons and ice-axe. For the latter though, it is recommendable to do the 3-day tour, which includes a day of practising at the lower glacier.

  • Day 1 – La Paz - Base Camp - High Camp

    Day 2 – High Camp - Ascent to Huayna Potosi - High Camp - Base Camp - La Paz

  • Day 1 – La Paz - Base Camp - High Camp
    We leave from La Paz for the base-camp in the morning and hike up to the high camp (5,400m) where we eat and rest, while preparing for the summit in the early hours of the next day.

    Day 2 – High Camp - Ascent to Huayna Potosi - High Camp - Base Camp - La Paz
    We start the ascend 1.30 am. to be able to reach the summit at sunrise. It is an approximate 5-hour climb in the cold of night and stars, with an extraordinary view over the Cordillera Real, the highlands and lake Titicaca. The descend is quick and after a small bite back at the high camp we go down to the base where our transport awaits to take us back to La Paz arriving in the early afternoon.
